The only thing making rets easier is only 1 bop, but their wog is aids. Holy may not be killable but they lack the damage to beat the Rogue either right?
They have the damage. If you use all of your defensive CDs during each opener as needed the rogue will die if he does not leave. The only way I can maybe see a rogue beating an hpal is hpal is bad, blows too many defensive CDs early, rogue saves his shadowblades and hpal gets caught in shadowblades stun lock with no trinket or cc remover. Eventually, I was always out of everything and he could use everything again. Rogue vs ret is all about killing him during forbearance, you can easily force BOP with a kidney and dps trinket if you empty enough damage into him.
Let him pop up all cds, then vanish, wait for cds to go to waste, then nuke him also Evasion is your friend. Good rets are really hard 2 kill. It looks like I need to force forbedeance, yes, and wait for anything he popped to expire, and then start damage.
Of course while I am attacking, he can use damage buffs which is why I had to run because it was essentially a matter of secs my health was next to none! Really frustrating. I found a streamer Pikaboo who is a PvP rogue with very high arena rating.
Others can wait until your kidney shot and trinket it, and have bubble ready for your blind. The key to beating paladins in my own experience would be: force a bubble as soon as you can, kick heals, try to clos HoJ or repentance by predicting. Try to gain distance when they bubble and attempt to bandage, but in reality most paladins will make sure to interrupt that.
EDIT: there's not much you can do versus dk's, at least not before the patch. Post by Cetlysm you want control, when you loose control just vanish and get away, get far from the aoe rain, then, when he is about to heal, gain control again, blind if he trinkets, and take control again, if he bubbles, sprint, vanish run gtfo, imo you need to burn him down at the start so he bubbles, the idea is to have full hp, and preparation imo trinket hammer of justice.
Post by mageriction Opening with garrote is a sure way to have your ass handed to you on a platter. Opening with garrote on a ret pally is definetely not a sure way to get owned by them, it is actually better, ret pallys can easily get out of all of stuns with hand of freedom. If you garrote them they can't do anything off the bat for 3 seconds because of the silence. To force the bubble, open with garrote, and when your garrote silence is about to wear off, dismantle the ret pally, but be sure to do it behind him, then it won't be able to be dodged, not sure about the parry though.
Any class that catches a rogue out of steath has the upper hand. Reck Bomb Paladin being a specific style talents that relies going fairly deep into prot spec to get reckoning. A Warrior has a few disadvantages against the Rogue— mostly their lack of ranged attacks and healing abilities— but they generally match up well. A player should keep these two advantages in mind when playing.
