A lot of new players seem drawn to them. They're pretty easy to play adequately, especially in earlier expansions, and who doesn't want an awesome animal companion?
There's a reason people groan when they see a Hunter in the group. They'll roll on every item. They'll forget to dismiss their pets during shortcuts. They'll forget to turn off Growl. God forbid, they don't even know what Growl is. In many lower-level dungeons, you'll see a tank complaining about losing aggro because the Hunter didn't turn off his pet's taunt.
Back in the day, it could be devastating for groups. We've seen a few newbies in dungeons rolling on gear that is terrible for them. A warrior thinks its better for him because it has a higher armor value and more stamina. Agility ring? Well, the mage doesn't have any rings at all. It must be better than nothing. Most people will be understanding if you tell them you're a new player.
But please don't just roll need on every item that drops because you think its an upgrade. If you don't know whether or not it's good for you, there are plenty of online resources like Icy Veins ready to help. Forza Horizon 5 addresses you by the name on your Microsoft account, but for some trans players, that has unexpected consequences.

I say if you want to live in a Yurt, Yurt it up! Play in the way it feels best for you. Clicking simply makes your experience a bit less fluid. You briefly lose some control of your character if you have to click which makes its not ideal in pvp.
Well seeing as hitting a key on the keyboard is always going to be at least a hundred or so milliseconds faster than clicking and also seeing as you cannot move and click abilities at the same time effectively, yes. I do a mix of both. Everything in my rotation as well as my CC abilities are keybound, but abilities I rarely use, along with professions, hearthstones, etc. I click. Do I need tailoring on a hotkey? No, no I do not. And that's where the stigma comes from.
The old joke goes like this: "If I use mouse to turn, how do I click Rend? Post by cephadex On the contrary, people who use the keyboard to turn are widely ridiculed by the titans, themselves! On a serious note, at the end of the day it's a game, and I think that if you're happy using the mouse then use the mouse.
Post by m4DD0gg get a gaming mouse with the buttons on the side on shift modifiers, trust me you will never look back. If it suits your play style, and if you manage well why not? The intention of it is to have fun, play the way you like and enjoy :D. Post by ciddy1 It's not the most optimal way to play, but it's not dumb. I've been playing since I was a keyboard turner until the end of BC I even used the arrow keys instead of WASD to move around and turn back in Classic and a clicker until the end of Wrath, and I did well enough.
If you're not in some super hardcore world-first guild, you're probably going to be fine. I transitioned to keybindings around the time Cataclysm came out, but I started slowly.
First thing I did was change A and D to left and right strafe that helped break me from keyboard turning. Didn't do anything else, but I just got used to that for a while. Then I started binding one or two of my most important abilities bloodthirst and Raging Blow, as a fury warrior and got used to that for a couple of weeks, then I slowly started transitioning other abilities to keybinds.
If you try using keybinds, you don't want to jump straight in and keybind all of your abilities on day one after you've been a clicker for years, or you'll probably have a bad time. Also: there is no "right" way to set your keybindings. It's personal preference. Just do what feels most comfortable. I actually don't use the number keys as much. I'm mostly using keys around WASD and shift modifiers for all those.
And again, it's not dumb to be a clicker, but I do suggest that you try playing around with keybindings.
